Placement Process

At PTVA’s Institute of Management we strive to enhance the academic-industry interface through projects, field work and internships, thereby providing a much needed corporate exposure. Visiting experts and guest faculty members augment and enhance our curriculum by providing valuable insights in their areas of specialisation, share their experience and stature.

Placement Activities

The placement office is a place with vibrant ideas, activities and enthusiasm throughout the year. It carries out the following placement related activities for over development of the students on campus:

Resume verification:

Resumes submitted by students for campus placement are duly verified by the Faculty members and Placement Coordinators.

Employability Enhancement Programme (EEP)

Our goal is to give our students the fine-tuning that they require not just during the placement season but also as they board on their corporate endeavour. With this objective in mind, the Institute carries out several employability enhancement activities that include:
  • Communication evaluation sessions
  • Resume Building & CV Writing
  • Group Discussion & Personal Interview Workshops
  • Informal interactive talks with Alumni
  • Advanced MS Excel workshops
  • Several other preparatory activities like mock tests, Quantitative ability workshops etc.

Summer Internship

As a compulsory part of curriculum, As a part of MMS curriculum, each student has to undergo a summer internship of two months after his/her second semester exam. At the end of the internship, the student is required to prepare a project report and submit it to the institute.

The selection process for Summer Placements starts after the first term for the first year students’ i.e. from January. The period of Summer Internship is from May to June of each year. Several companies tend to absorb these summer interns as full-time recruits post the completion of the students’ academic curriculum.

Summer Internship is a great mechanism for MBA students to engage and evaluate interesting industry segments and engineering their resources to make a pitch for a Pre-Placement Offer (PPO)

Final Placements

For students of MBA Programme, placements are a vital culmination to their academic pursuits. The placement process allows an organization to visit the institute and witness the efforts that have gone into grooming the young management aspirants.

At our institute, the placement process is a team effort. The placement Committee consisting of the Director, the Placement Co-ordinator and the faculty work alongside the students in all the stages right from conceptualizing and designing the brochure to inviting companies for campus recruitment.

The placement season at PTVA’s Institute of Management begins in the month of October and goes on up to June.
